Manufacturing Philosophy

MEMSense strives to achieve a world class manufacturing organization through the implementation of several key manufacturing philosophies.  The people behind the system are number one, so we work safely or not at all – we never compromise employee safety. Lean manufacturing practices are employed to reduce waste and increase value delivered to our customer.  A relentless focus on process improvement is upheld to reduce costs and lead times while improving product reliability.  The goal of process improvement is carried into product creation through a close partnership with Research and Development thereby ensuring new products are designed for manufacturability.

At MEMSense a relentless focus is kept on increasing product value and quality while reducing lead times. MEMSense continually focuses on outperforming all competitors in on time delivery, reliability, and after sale support. The talented MEMSense Engineering staff is utilized to constantly improve our manufacturing tools and systems to decrease cycle times and improve line yields. MEMSense employees are constantly innovating safer, faster, better manufacturing methods through creative thinking and challenging the status quo. New technologies are employed to improve our processes and increase line yields. Our manufacturing team take’s pride in our facility, keeping a clean, clutter free and organized environment that enhances our efficiency and safety. There is no blame in our manufacturing environment, we are not victims, if something goes wrong the focus is on SOLUTIONS in the following order:

  1. Issue containment
  2. Short-term issue resolution
  3. Long-term issue elimination and process refinement

We know our employees are capable and dedicated, so mistakes are treasures that show us where our processes are not good enough. We have fun and take pride in everything we do.

Manufacturing Capabilities

  • Surface Mount Circuit Board Assembly: 95% of all PCB’s are built on SMT Line.
  • Custom designed Rate Tables and Temperature Chambers. Capable of 5400 deg/sec testing over military spec temperature range (-40C to +85C) and greater.
  • Vibration Testing
  • Centrifuge testing
  • Triaxial Helmholtz Coil with Thermostream system for magnetometer testing and calibration over military temperature range
  • Impact testing
  • Capacity and staffing model that enables us to know, in detail, what resources we need to grow. We can quickly add output capacity through an increase in people and/or equipment.  We are working to build relationships with component manufacturers to help facilitate large scale growth if necessary.
